Accurate requirements are foundational for a successful project. Manual definition and management of requirements becomes inefficient if not impossible as the size and complexity of projects grow. Large teams, globally distributed teams, rapidly changing requirements and projects with hundreds to thousands of requirements contribute to the difficulty. Our panelists tonight will delve into this issue and show us how we can leverage requirements management tools to help tame the requirements beast.
About the Speakers:
Steve Grossman is Director of Application Engineering for Western North America at Telelogic, An IBM Company. In this role Steve provides guidance on solution architectures for Telelogic customers looking to improve maturity and governance of their software development activities. Steve has been with Telelogic since 1998 and was previously a Telelogic customer at several companies including Texas Instruments and StorageTek. With more than 20 years experience in software development, software development tools and development processes, Steve brings a broad background to the discussion of development methodologies. He lives in Wylie, TX with his wife and two children and enjoys outdoor activities including backpacking, canoeing and horseback riding.
Robert Quevillon is a Solutions Consultant for Distributed Products and Project Portfolio Management solutions at Compuware Corporation. Robert has 24 years experience in IT and has held active roles in all aspects of Application Development Lifecycle, including Developer, Business Analyst, Project Manager, Methodology Coach and Pre-sales Support Engineer for product solutions. Project experience has been gained in the development of Military, Communication, Finance and Retail systems. Robert has worked with Compuware's Optimal Trace solution for the past four years and is considered one of the key presenters for this technology within Compuware.
Morris Selby is Managing Consultant for the Western Region of IBM Software Services for Rational (ISSR). Project manager with experience implementing large enterprise and web enabled applications. Mr. Selby is a subject matter expert in requirements management, Model Driven Systems Development (MDSD), software process improvement and software metrics. Morris has twenty-two years of software development, IT Operations, process improvement and project management experience. The majority of Morris’s experience was gained while delivering software applications for a Fortune 100 property and casualty insurance/financial services company. He has over seventeen years of experience developing software and leading teams in delivering world class products and service to this demanding industry. Mr. Selby has experience developing object oriented software, leading an organization to world class efficiency by utilizing the CMM model, and improving software development time to market by leveraging automation, iterative development and offshore resources.
