Overview:
Janet Ply, PhD, will present a summary of her upcoming book on
enterprise/business transformation management, with an emphasis on
how these complex initiatives differ from traditional IT projects.
As global IT increases in complexity, companies must re-invent
themselves frequently to remain competitive. Business transformation
initiatives are extremely complex and have high failure rates for
a multitude of reasons. The presentation will discuss the
differences between IT business transformation projects and
traditional IT projects, common causes for failure, and how to
position these initiatives for success.
About the Speaker:
Janet Ply, PhD, is the co-founder of Pendere, Inc., in Austin, Texas,
specializing in enterprise program management, business transformation
initiatives, software process improvement, and project/program recovery
for Fortune 500 companies. She has over 20 years of experience managing
large, complex software solutions domestically and globally.
She has a BS degree in mathematics, an MS degree in Engineering, an MS degree in Procurement and Acquisition Management, and a PhD in Information Technology. She is certified by the Project Management Institute (PMI) as a Project Management Professional (PMP) and by the Software Engineering Institute as a CMM Evaluator. |
