Overview:
Excellent risk management is key to ensuring the realization of your project goals. This presentation will focus on the art and science of risk management. Among the topics to be covered are these:
  • when and how often you should conduct risk analysis
  • ways to identify comprehensive risk possibilities utilizing the 5Ws and the H to identify risks
  • rarely evaluated areas with potential high impact
  • how to mitigate risks to achieve results.
Using real-world examples, you will walk away with the information necessary to implement a risk process immediately in your projects to enable your teams to have greater project success.

About the Speaker:
Cindy Margules, PMP, has been a program manager for over nineteen years and is a requested and frequent speaker at Austin PMI. She was recently the keynote speaker for the International Program Office Summit in Savannah, Georgia. She has been in the semiconductor industry (Freescale / Motorola) for more than 11 years, where she managed the largest Project Management Office. That PMO was responsible for the Microcontroller Division’s new product introductions - about 120 concurrent projects. The MCD PMO was the quality benchmark in PMOs at Freescale – improving on-time project delivery from 50% to 91% in less than 2.5 years. Cindy is now the owner of a consulting company, PM Transformations, specializing in evaluating PMOs and PMs to increase business results with strategic improvements, including a very unique way of finding top talent. She has been working with companies including Cypress Semiconductor and others, to achieve their business goals through exceptional project management.
